I didn’t begin this chapter of life with a grand plan.
I began with a feeling.
After years shaped by calendars, meetings, and responsibilities, life began to soften. I retired from meetings and was joyfully promoted to grandmother—an unexpected and deeply meaningful promotion. With it came a new rhythm: slower mornings, fuller hearts, creative hands, and a growing awareness that this season of life holds its own kind of wisdom.
Cozy Nest Life was born from that pause—the kind that makes room for what matters most.
It began as a seed—the simple choice to live gently. Home is not just a space, but a feeling. It’s found in shared meals, small creative projects, quiet reflections, and the traditions we build and choose to carry forward. It’s about noticing what brings comfort and joy, continuing to grow and learn along the way —letting those moments to take center stage.
I never thought of myself as an author, yet here I am, realizing I’ve been one my whole life.
I am a Cornell-trained engineer with an MBA, and throughout my professional engineering career in the water sector I presented nationally and internationally on nature-based systems and the gift water is to humanity— from a systems-view perspective. My work focused on helping people understand how complex, living systems function within urban life—how small changes ripple outward, how balance is created, and how thoughtful design supports long-term resilience. That systems way of thinking now shapes how I now approach food, home, creativity, and the rhythms of everyday life. I’m a lifelong learner, drawn to creativity in all its forms writing, cooking, making, reflecting, and remembering. I believe curiosity doesn’t retire, it deepens from experience, and creativity has no age limit. In this next chapter, I see retirement not as an ending, but as the beginning of a new and meaningful journey.
Cozy Nest Life isn’t about perfection or productivity. It’s about presence. About choosing warmth over hurry, meaning over noise, and connection over clutter. It’s a reminder that the most beautiful chapters are often written not in bold strokes, but in small, intentional moments.
If you’ve found Cozy Nest Life, perhaps you’re in a season of transition—or maybe you were simply meant to find your way here. Whether you’re just beginning, finding your rhythm, or learning to live a little more gently, you’re among kindred spirits here.
Pull up a chair, stay awhile, and make yourself at home.
